Christopher Braime, Conductor
Christopher became conductor of the London Gay Symphony Orchestra in 2010. He has been active as a professional, and community music maker for over 20 years.
He won a foundation scholarship to the Royal College of Music where he began life as an oboist before moving into the field of conducting. He has held many Musical Director positions in orchestras and choral societies throughout London and Southern England, and has conducted throughout Europe. He is particularly proud of his support of young musicians throughout the years, many of whom have now gone on to international careers.
During the pandemic, when the requirement for conductors of large scale symphony orchestras was somewhat curtailed(!) he developed his work in the field of audio production and videography, and as a videographer (through his studio, Studio Falkland Lodge) now works with many of the country’s leading ensembles.
Christopher, with some dear friends and colleagues, is also in the process of starting a charity to provide musical opportunities to those in society who otherwise wouldn’t have access to the life-changing power of music and musical shared experience. More to come on that when he next remembers to update his biography in 2046…
